LIST OF STANDARD EXCLUDED MEDICAL SERVICES (ONLY FOR GP)

The following conditions and treatments are specifically excluded under Parkway; unless otherwise

authorized by the Engaging Company and/or Parkway:

1. Treatment which is medically not warranted, including treatment for conditions not generally

regarded as medical illnesses;

2. Experimental treatment and procedure under investigation;

3. Treatment which is not generally deemed to be within the expertise of a general practitioner;

4. Treatments for cosmetic & lifestyle indications including acne, erectile dysfunction, pigmentation,

hair loss, weight loss/gain, refractive error of the eye and any form of aesthetic surgery;

5. Preventive treatment including vaccination, immunization and general health screenings including

yearly routine checks. This also includes the prescription of vitamins, mineral and nutritional

supplements in the absence of specific deficiencies;

6. Orthopaedic aids and appliances such as splints, insoles, hot packs, prostheses, guards and

braces.

7. Treatment and investigation relating to HIV, organ transplant related indications, sexually

transmitted diseases, intentionally self-inflicted injury or illness and treatment arising directly and

indirectly from abuse of drugs or alcohol;

8. Physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic therapy, dialysis and

other traditional medical treatments that are not part of mainstream medicine;

9. All dental treatments and implants;

10. Treatment arising directly and indirectly from abuse of drugs or alcohol;

11. Treatment of anxiety, sleep disorders, depression, addiction to controlled drugs and other

psychiatric disorders;

12. Treatment and investigations arising from pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, subfertility and

infertility, abortion, contraception, impotence and menopause;

13. Treatment for congenital abnormalities, including physical defects present from birth;

14. Out of office consultation, House Calls, Tele consult (unless otherwise approved by the Engaging

Company);

15. Industrial accidents (unless otherwise approved by the Engaging Company);

16. Sales & rental of disposables such as lancets, syringes, nebulizers, home oxygen therapy,

glucometers, blood pressure monitor or any other medical rehab equipment e.g. Wheelchairs.

PRE HEALTH SCREENING PREPARATIONS

WHAT TO BRING:

- Necessary documents (e.g. identification card, passport, company’s letter or staff pass) for verification upon registration

- Past medical reports, X-ray films and existing medications (if any)

- If you are taking the Cardiac Treadmill Stress ECG test, you may bring your own sports attire. Alternatively, we do provide sports attire including shoes and socks at our centres.

BEFORE YOUR HEALTH SCREENING APPOINTMENT

1. 10 hours fasting is required prior to your appointment.

2. Food and beverages are to be abstained during the fast. If thirsty, you may have only sips of plain water to ensure better accuracy for your cholesterol and sugar results.

3. 1 hour prior to your screening appointment, please drink slightly more plain water so that you will have sufficient urine sample for urine analysis.

4. For your comfort and the convenience of medical examinations, we recommend that you wear a two-piece outfit.

5. If you are a diabetic patient, please do not take medicine or insulin on the morning of the scheduled appointment. Regular high blood pressure and/or heart medication can be continued.

6. If you are on blood thinner medication, you may not be able to proceed with endoscopy (gastroscopy or colonoscopy). Please consult your primary physician on the temporary abstinence of the blood thinner medication for at least 7 days prior to the screening should you opt to do endoscopy.

7. Please bring your glasses (if any) for distant and near vision tests as we will be testing your vision. Please do not put on your contact lenses on the appointment day.

8. If you are taking the Cardiac Treadmill Stress ECG test, you may bring your own sports attire. Alternatively, we do provide sports attire including shoes and socks at our centres.

9. Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy procedures included as part of the screening package may incur additional charges for diagnosis of polyps.

10. For ladies, collection of urine, stool and Pap Smear tests should be done at least 5 days before the start of menstruation or 5 days after the end of menstruation so as not to affect test results.

If you are menstruating on the day of your appointment, please inform the nurses on arrival. You will not be able to perform your urine, stool and Pap Smear tests as presence of blood in these tests would produce inaccurate results. The Pap Smear test can be rescheduled at your convenience.

11. Patients with breast implants will incur additional charges for Mammogram. These additional charges apply even if Mammogram is included as part of the screening package. If patients decline to pay the additional charge, the Mammogram will not be conducted and no refund will be given.

12. Containers will be provided for collection of urine and stool specimens on the day of screening.

13. The entire screening will be completed in one morning.

Clinic services​

1. Care of high-risk pregnant women including multiple pregnancies (e.g. twins, triplets), second opinions, care of older pregnant women and those with past history of miscarriages, preterm labour, stillbirth and fetal abnormalities.
2. Amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
3. Screening and diagnostic scans of the fetus(es) in the first, second and third trimesters.
4. One-stop care for low-risk pregnant women including conduct of vaginal delivery and Caesarean section.
5. Care for women with abnormal menstrual patterns, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, sexually transmitted infections and well women screening.
6. Teleconsultation including second opinions on abnormal scan reports where no scan is required, and follow-ups.
