More than 100 years ago, in the legendary Caf\u00e9 Hipp, the Hipp family\u2019s own pastry shop in Pfaffenhofen, the first baby food was created. Joseph Hipp gave his children his own home-grown, hand-ground rusk, to which he added water and milk. In 1932, his son Georg Hipp developed a procedure for the industrial production of the rusk porridge. Since he was convinced that organic farming was the right decision for healthy baby food, he converted his family\u2019s farm to organic farming in 1956. From then on, fruits, vegetables, and cereals for their products grew in natural soils. In 1967, his son Claus Hipp took over his father\u2019s farm and developed the ecological principle further.<\/p>

These days, HiPP works hand in hand with more than 8,000 experienced contract farmers. On approximately 15,000 hectares they grow fruit and vegetables for HiPP baby food and keep their animals in a species-appropriate way.
